KRC Genk kit launch in Augmented Reality

Project Description

For their 19-20 season kit launch, KRC Genk is pioneering by lauching its new player outfits in Augmented Reality.

The KRC Genk RELOAD Kit app (on iOS and Android) allows to virtually place KRC Genk’s most recent signing Theo Bongonda in your surroundings, as a means for fans to discover the new kit in detail.

During a volumetric photoshoot, Theo Bongonda was captured in 3D wearing the new Home, Away and Alternative kit. Because the reveal of the new player outfits is highly anticipated moment for the fans, KRC Genk set up the RELOAD campaign that counts down to the actual reveal in Augmented Reality. In the app, fans saw a timer counting down to the day of the first match in the new equipment. Only then, a 3D model of the player could be viewed with the proper textures applied to it, so design of the shirt and sponsors on the outfit would be kept a secret until that moment.

Fans can use the built-in Snap-and-Share functionality to take a selfie with Theo and share it online with their friends and fellow KRC Genk fans.
